Welcome to Mxscooter! By using our website and renting our scooters, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully as they govern the use of our services and your rights and responsibilities as a renter.

General Terms of Service

  • Minimum Rental Age: The minimum age for renting a scooter is 18 years old.
  • Rental Period: The minimum rental period is 24 hours (1 day). Extensions can be made by contacting Mxscooter at least 24 hours before the rental period ends to avoid overbooking.
  • Reservations and Payments:
    • Payments are made at the time of pick-up and can be processed in cash, via bank transfer, or through PayPal. No credit card is required for booking.
    • Reservations will be reconfirmed via phone, SMS, or email within 12 hours after booking. Please ensure you provide a valid email address.
    • Prices, rates, and VAT may change without prior notice, but the price confirmed at the time of reservation is the final price to be paid.
    • From April 1st to September 30th, prices increase by €5 per day.

When renting from Mxscooter, the following services and amenities are included:

  • Free Airport Delivery and Pick-up

  • Scooters from 2021-2024 models
  • Helmets and Top Case
  • Free 24-Hour Roadside Assistance
  • No pickup fees for rentals of 7 or more days
  • No deposit required

Scooter Delivery and Pick-Up

  • Mxscooter offers free pick-up and drop-off in the eastern zone of Madeira, including Machico, Santa Cruz (airport), and Funchal. For other areas of the island, an additional fee may apply.
  • We ensure fast, comfortable, and personalized deliveries with no queues.

Rental Conditions and Responsibilities

Client Responsibilities:

  • The client is responsible for any damage to rear-view mirrors, rims, tire punctures, or sliced tires.
  • The client is liable for any fines, fuel mix-ups, vehicle damage caused by violations, negligence, or mishandling.
  • The client assumes full responsibility for any damage or accidents caused while driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or other narcotic substances.
  • The client is responsible for returning the scooter with the same fuel level as when picked up. Fuel is not included in the rental price.

Insurance Coverage:

  • The scooter rental includes Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W.); however, personal injury, theft, and personal belongings are not covered. We recommend that you ensure your travel insurance covers these situations.
  • The insurance does not cover damages due to acts of vandalism, natural disasters, or participation in sports events, races, contests, or challenges.

Pricing and Fees

  • All prices include taxes. There are no hidden fees or card charges.
  • We guarantee the lowest rental prices and offer no cancellation fees or penalties for changes or cancellations made in advance.
  • Seasonal Pricing: During peak seasons (Christmas/New Year, summer, Easter, Carnival, etc.), availability may be limited. It is highly recommended to make reservations as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Liability and Damages

  • The client is liable for any fines, damages, or legal violations incurred during the rental period, including but not limited to the use of incorrect fuel or reckless driving.
  • The client is responsible for the full cost of repairs for any damage not covered by the C.D.W., including rear-view mirrors, rims, tires, and negligence-related damages.
  • Any extensions to the rental period must be communicated to Mxscooter 24 hours before the end of the rental period to avoid additional charges or conflicts with other bookings.

Road Assistance

Mxscooter provides free 24-hour roadside assistance during your rental period. Should you encounter any issues with your scooter, you can contact us for help at no additional cost.

Changes to Terms

Mxscooter reserves the right to update or change these Terms of Use at any time without prior notice. The latest version will always be available on our website.
